9th May 08:Markets opened with a negative gap and traded in the negative territory for the whole day. IT stocks were the main drag on the indices as the IT heavyweights met with selling pressure at higher levels. Some of the banking stocks also struggled as they drifted lower on selling. Tata Steel continued to be on the buy side as it raced to almost 4 months high on good volumes. Rpower and Cairns were the other two biggies that continued to attract buyers. Some of the major gainers for the day were Moser Baer, Nucleus Soft, Sterlite Technologies, Aban Offshore, Arvind Mills, Great Offshore; IFCI and Alok Ind. Major losers were DCB, Kotak, Maha Life, ITC, Lanco, MRPL, BOB, Reliance Capital, BOI, Satyam, Indian Bank and Axis ........
